Ride, Revel, Rann!

Break away into the vast expanse of white sand that beckons the explorer in you. Many have the eagerness to visit the Rann in Gujarat but very few demonstrate the tenacity to do it on two wheels. That is what sets apart this breed of people – the Bikers! The Rann of Kutch in Gujarat has been at the epicentre of interest of the motorcycling community in recent times. This year, the Musafirs too plan to witness the extravaganza of the Rann.

We understand that it becomes difficult for working professionals to get holidays from work and hence we have created a motorcycle tour with the maximum number of attractions within a short span of time. With just 5 days leave from office, we explore almost every known site in and around Rann of Kutch. The ancient harappan civilization ruins at Dholavira, the last village before the Pakistan border – Lakhpat, the expanses of white sand of rann, the Narayan Sarovar, Koteshwar, Mandvi and many other places on the itinerary. How do we go about it?

Ride Dates: 5th to 12th March

We flag off the ride at 4:00 AM on Saturday from Fountain Hotel, Mumbai (earlier for the Pune chapter) and ride for to reach Rapar in Gujarat by dusk. The next day we explore the 5th largest Harappan site on the sub-continent and neighbouring places of interest.

Across the next couple of days we visit Kala Dungar – the only place that allows a panoramic view of the Great Rann of Kutch; Lakhpath – the Indo-pakistan border village with Lakhpath fort; Narayan Sarovar and Koteshwar.

Following these sites, we ride to the Mandvi Beach and spend a day there preparing our motorcycles for the return journey. We spend the next night at Baroda and reach back to Mumbai on Saturday. Sinking in the experience over Sunday, by the time you head for work on Monday, you will have a huge grin and a completely rejuvenated feeling of having ‘Been There, Done That’ and that too on your motorcycle.

You can rest assured that you are in safe and able hands as you will be riding with a club and with people who have the experience of organising more than 60 motorcycle rides in the past few years.

All breakfast/ meals (bottled water, cold drinks etc excluded), Multiple sharing accommodations, Permits and sight-seeing charges, Safety reflective vests, The experience of riding with the experienced.

The Musafirs is an evolved riding club with numerous online and print publications writing about it (check it out: https://www.themusafirs.com/media/). Riding with the Musafirs requires biking discipline and punctuality. Our riders demonstrate real control, discipline and temperament by riding in the designated formations at the designated speed and performing responsibilities that make the ride function like clock-work.

The Musafirs is NOT a Boyz-Only Riders Club. Female riders/pillions are welcome as our female crew member – Shona and numerous other female Musafirs would be there to keep company throughout the trip. Also, this is not an only Bullets club and you are welcome with any reliable and well-serviced motorcycle.

We do not support/encourage drugs and are firmly against it! If you cannot resist the urge to light up a joint for ride days, you are better off riding with some other riding group.
