A LITTLE ESCAPE TO THE HILLS – MOKHADA

There are rides you plan months in advance. And then there are rides you simply need.

A ride where you don’t need to chase kilometres or tick off a long list of destinations. A ride where the road, the weather, the company and the destination come together just right.

This September, we’re heading to Mokhada. Tucked away in the Sahyadris, this is one of those places that manages to make you feel a world away from the city without actually taking you too far from it.

This little hill town comes alive during the monsoon lush green hills, mist hanging over the valleys, winding roads and waterfalls rushing through the landscape. And September is the perfect excuse to experience it.

RIDE. EXPLORE. UNWIND :  We start with what we love most – the ride. Leave the city behind and watch the landscape slowly change. The traffic gives way to open roads, concrete gives way to green and the familiar city chaos slowly disappears in the rear-view mirror. The route to Mokhada is exactly the kind of riding we love at Musafirs. Not about how fast you get there. It’s about enjoying the road. The corners. The weather. The smell of the monsoon. The unexpected views. The chai stops. The conversations between the rides. And, of course, that unmistakable feeling of being on two wheels with a bunch of people who understand exactly why you chose to spend your weekend this way.

A GLIMPSE INTO THE PAST  : Mokhada isn’t only about beautiful roads. The region has a rich history and a strong tribal culture.

Because the best motorcycle rides aren’t always about the road. Sometimes, they’re about the stories you discover along it. Then comes the part that makes a monsoon ride to Mokhada even more special. Waterfalls…The rains transform the hills , bringing streams and waterfalls roaring back to life. We’ll make our way to one of the region’s beautiful waterfalls, take a breather and enjoy the landscape.

No hurry. No schedules screaming at us.

Just green hills, falling water, wet roads and the kind of scenery that makes you reach for your phone even though you know the camera will never quite capture it.

And after all that riding and exploring?

It’s time to relax. We’ve got a pool waiting for us. Kick off the riding boots, forget about the road for a while, jump into the pool, grab a drink, laugh about the day’s adventures and simply enjoy being away from the city.

Because a Musafirs ride doesn’t always have to end when the engines are switched off…that’s actually  when the fun really begins.
